4th ASEANpreneurs Idea Canvas has begun. The focus this year shifts to social issues plaguing the ASEAN subspace. The range is wide, spanning poverty to electricity.

AIC aims to inspire the youth of today and prepare the leaders of tomorrow. AIC encourages a sensitivity to the social environment that stretches ones innovative capacity. At ASEANpreneurs, we believe that as global citizens, we share responsibility for the well being of the society. We want the budding entrepreneurs of tomorrow to not simply think of a local social problem but ideate and propose a solution to the problem. AIC looks for a blend of creativity and feasibility.

AIC invites applications from students in the ASEAN region. For the preliminary round, applicants are required to send in an executive summary of their proposed social idea. The top five selected applicants would then be required to send a 5-10 minute video describing the social challenge and the proposed solution.

AIC rewards its social drivers handsomely. In addition to earning SGD$1500, the winner of the competition will get an all expenses paid opportunity to attend ASEANpreneurs Youth Leaders Exchange (AYLE) in February 2012; an exclusive opportunity to receive personal mentorship from social activists, meet distinguished social entrepreneurs, attend hands-on workshops to build on your entrepreneurial mindset and network with delegates from the 10 different ASEAN nations .
